I fell off the wagon, is that what people say, when they have messed up on their diet? As I did this past weekend. We had company, and I am cleaning and getting ready for Thanksgiving. So, of course, I do what I always do. I didn't eat enough earlier in the day. So, when nighttime came, I was hungry. And, because I have been working so hard, I felt I deserved it.
Boy do I regret it. I feel lousy. I ache, from eating more fat that I have in a long time. I am tired, from not eating right. I want to remember this feeling so that I can remind myself when I think I deserve something in the future.
That is why I am blogging. I know that no one is reading this or listening to this. But it is for me.
Is there anybody out there?
I turned 50 in December, 2009. My youngest daughter is getting married on October 1, 2011. I am determined to do it this time and am blogging my progress.

WATER!
I don't mind drinking water. I have always drank water, and my kids do the same. It has always been something that I have done. I get up in the morning, make the bed, shower, get dressed and get a glass of water. I start with 16 oz. I drink it down and get another. I take that into my bedroom and take my vitamins, drinking half of the second glass. Then, I turn on the news and my cat comes and drinks the rest of it. So, I have three glasses down before I start my day.
I have another at lunch, one in the afternoon, and then one at dinner. If I drink too much after dinner, I am up all night going to the bathroom, and I love my sleep.
Water is so important to dieting. I also got some of those powder Crystal light things to add to my water if I get bored.
The key is being close to a bathroom. I can't drink all my water if I am not.
Do you have any tricks for drinking all your water?

First two pounds lost!
Well, I have lost two pounds after the first week. I am glad, not over the moon, but glad. My weight is starting to go down, and that makes me glad.
I had another revelation on Sunday. My husband and I had our 29th wedding anniversary. Two of our children took us out to lunch. We went to the Claddagh Irish Pub and I got their fish and chips. I love fish, and I really love good fish and chips, and Claddagh makes them. Usually, I can eat the entire plate of food without even blinking an eye. I love it that much. Well, Sunday I order the fish and chips and struggled to finish it. I did finish it, but was miserable for the rest of the day. I think my stomach is shrinking. This is a good thing, right? This is what I want, to eat less and do well.
Have anyone else had a similiar experience?

Coming to the end of the week
I am a bit scared. I have my next weight and measure tomorrow! I hate these things because you never know what way they will end up. I have been working really hard and, what if, I don't have a positive result?
Anyway, I think I have done very well, just a few times of having something that I shouldn't.

Second day!
Well, I am doing okay! Better than I had antipated, that is for certain!
I had one minor slip up today. a friend of mine was selling candy for her son. I bought a butterfinger candy bar. It was good, I have to admit. But that is all.
I have gone on caloriecounter.com and registered. If you haven't been to this site, it is wonderful. You can enter your information, food eaten and exercise and it is tracked for you. And it is all free!
I ate fish tonight for dinner. I used the Cod that I bought the other day. I smashed up some melba toast and rosemary and coated the fish and baked it for twenty minutes. Then, I added some lemon. It was quite good, with a salad and some tea.
Tomorrow, let's talk water!

One day to go!
I have my food and my menus planned out for the next couple of days. I did find some interesting things at the grocery store yesterday. Laughing Cow makes a low fat cheese. How about some of it on a Kashi cracker or a rice cake? I did get two pieces of really good Alaskian Cod that I can't wait to make.

Shopping day!
Today I am going to the grocery store to buy my food. I have a list, but plan on being gone for quite some time. I want to read the labels and just spend some time looking at my options.
I know that I want to buy some fish. Fish is really good for you and full of omega 3, which is important. I also want to get some eggs, natural peanut butter, whole wheat bread, and lots and lots of veggies. Veggies are free, so I can eat as much as I want. I plan on cutting up the carrots and celery when I get home, so that I can eat them as I want. Good loose leaf lettuce is also a must! Some cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes.
I also want some snacks. I plan on eating 1200 cal for the first week, and then 1500 after that. South Beach bars are good - low in fat and cals. I will get some low fat yogurt and some fat free milk. Rice cakes come in different flavors, so they will be in my cart.
I want to do this right, which means, changing the way I eat and buy food. I want this to be a way of life, and complete and utter life change. No more pop, which I love! No more chips, which I adore!

Day one is November 7,2010
Hi there - If you are like me, you have put off loosing weight, and really, quite frankly, don't want to think about it. But you do think about it - when pictures of you turn up. You think about it when graduations and reunions come around or you meet an old friend. You really are thinking about, just not doing something about. Well, I am refusing to "not think" about it anymore and am determined to do something about it. Starting Monday, I will begin a Weight Management program. I have plans and have read books. I have joined Curves and will exercise daily if it kills me, and it just might.
I want to look and feel better than I do. This is my modivation. But there is something else that is leading the charge. My daughter is getting married in October, 2011. So, this is my deadline. I tried and tried to put a counter on this blog so that I could show you the days left and the weigh that is coming off, but I can't seem to get it to work. If any of you know about this, please let me know.
